Matt McAndrew, Season 7 runner-up on The Voice, returned to the show to perform his new single Monday night.

The song, “Counting on Love,” was released to iTunes earlier in the day.

And after Matt’s performance, it was rapidly climbing the iTunes’ singles chart.

By 11:30 p.m., the song was already up to number 27 on the overall singles chart and sitting at number 11 on the pop chart.

It’s the first original from Matt since “Wasted Love” was released as part of the Season 7 finale.

Here’s what he had to say about the song on Twitter: “I wanted to do something upbeat that could work for radio but is still guitar oriented.”
