Gabi Mercaldo says she’s been singing since she was just 2 years old “for dinner guests and small things like that.”
Those small things developed into enough experience that she got a golden ticket at the Idol audiitons in Galveston.
Gabi says she’d like to use her music to help people from broken homes and to help show people they’re unique and don’t have to try to act like someone else.
“I love to help people and see that I’ve made a diffence in someone’s life, even if it’s only small,” the young woman from Staten Island, N.Y., says in her golden ticket interview.
Gabi says her favorite Idol contestant is Jordin Sparks, in part because of her youthfulness.
