Her audition: Kylee Dayne, 20, of Carrollton, Texas, auditioned with “Fallingwater” by Maggie Rogers. She was nearing the end of the performance when Blake Shelton and Chance the Rapper turned around simultaneously. Niall Horan joined them at the last second. Blake said Kylee showed the potential to put together a “killer performance.” Kylee opted to join Team Blake.

Here’s more about Kylee:

* She was 19 when she auditioned and music isn’t the career path she envisioned for herself upon graduating high school.

* In fact, she attended Baylor University for her freshman year of college as a pre-med student with the goal of becoming a surgeon.

* She found herself taking 18 hours of science classes, leaving little time for music, according to her Voice bio.

* “Then this amazing opportunity (The Voice) fell in my lap so I put that on hold,” she said of her pre-med studies in an interview with her local NBC affiliate.

* “I’ve always wanted to be a singer,” she added. “I’ve been singing since I could talk. So that’s always be in the back of my mind. ”

* She backs up that statement with an Instagram post, writing “I have been dreaming of something like this since i was 6.” Alongside is an adorable video of young Kylee sitting on a counter, happily singing while her dad plays guitar.

* The Voice opportunity fell in her lap courtesy of her mom, who signed her up for a virtual audition to appear on The Voice. Oh, and her mom broke the news just 30 minutes before that virtual audition, Kylee says in the interview.

* As the judges were making their pitches after her blind audition, a giant foam finger pointing toward Blake descended from the ceiling of the studio.

* And, yep, that made a difference, Kylee admitted in the NBC interview. “I wasn’t leaning in his direction until he had that foam finger fall from the sky. So good on him,” she said.

* A singer-songwriter, Kylee hasn’t released music yet, but head to Instagram and you’ll be able to listen to a couple of her impressive originals.

* She also has lots of music posted to TikTok, where she has 22,000 followers and more than 400,000 likes.

* At this point, Kylee told the NBC affiliate she’s planning to pursue music for a couple of years “at least” and likely move to Nashville. Schooling, she said, is something she can always return to in the future.
