Tyler Kae of The Voice Season 27

Her audition: Tyler Kae, 22, Olympia, Wash., “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper: Tyler’s slowed-down approach to the song and lovely tone prompted quick chair turns from Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini. Only Kelsea was immediately ruled out as a coach for Tyler because Adam blocked her. Kelsea called Tyler “amazing.” Adam loved the poise Tyler showed and awesome moments early in the performance. Since only he and Kelsea turned, Tyler automatically became Team Adam.

Here’s more about Tyler:

* She’s a Nashville-based singer-songwriter with a lovely soulful tone.

* She geared up for the season premiere by covering a song from each of the Season 27 coaches on social media. She sounds especially good on Michael Buble’s “Home,” which you can check out below.

* Tyler is from Oregon and attended Bushnell University there.

* She moved to Nashville for her last semester of college in January of 2023.

* That semester was spent at CMC Nashville, which bills itself as a music industry training ground.

* Judging from her social media post, she clearly loved the experience, which included a series of live performances.

* “I’ve also written my first three songs ever after loving music and beautiful stories written by other artists since I was a kid, but was always too scared to even try,” she writes in one of those posts.

* Tyler admits to struggling with self-confidence, writing in another post: “trying to force myself to put myself out there a tiny bit more, even though I’m insanely scared and very negative about anything I do musically.” That post is accompanied by a lovely cover of Lake Street Dive’s “I Can Change.”

* She told The Voice her struggle with anxiety and depression reached a peak when she was about 13. She says she got through it with the help of therapy and music, but is hoping a coach on the show can help her go even further in conquering her nerves.

* She has more than 500 followers and 5,550 likes on her TikTok, where you’ll find a wonderful cover of Phoebe Briders’ “Funeral.”
