Megan Joy’s Free to Fly album is set for release next week.

The new album is “Free to Fly,” and Megan plans to release it next week. Update: Megan’s album actually arrived on iTunes earlier than promised. It’s available now.

It’ll mark the second post-Idol album for the young woman who placed ninth on Season 8 of American Idol.

Her first, a self-titled effort in 2012, included a couple of wonderful tunes — “Trouble Is” and “Can’t Bring Me Down.” I’d encourage you to check them out.

As for the new songs, there’s a clip on YouTube where Megan says “Double Life” was inspired by her son Ryder.

And the catchy “Boy Next Door” was apparently featured in an episode of ABC’s “Deep End,” according to another YouTube clip. I’ve embedded a version of that song below.

As for the album, it’s now available for pre-order from Megan’s website for $12, plus postage and handling.
