Morgan Wallen was supposed to be performing on Saturday Night Live this week.

Instead, he found himself sitting in New York City mid-week, posting an apology video to fans on Instagram.

Online video surfaced of Wallen partying without a mask after attending an Alabama Crimson Tide football game last weekend.

And that prompted SNL to uninvite the former Voice contestant.

In his apology video, Wallen stressed he is not Covid positive, but added that he understood the show’s decision and accepted “ownership” of the situation.

He described his actions “as pretty short-sighted, and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and dreams.”

The 27-year-old country singer apologized for letting down his fans and his team and said he plans to step out of the spotlight for a while to work on himself.

Wallen was 20 when he auditioned for Season 6 of The Voice, advancing to the Top 20 before being eliminated.

His career has taken off in the past three years with a string of number one country hits — “Up Down” with Florida Georgia Line, “Whiskey Glass” and “Chasin’ You” — and his latest single, “7 Summers” is showing cross-over appeal.

The singer has had an eventful 2020. His first child, a son, was born in July; the mother is Morgan’s ex-fiance Katie Smith.

And in May, Wallen was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct outside Kid Rock’s bar in Nashville.
