After a slow start, things are picking up in terms of album releases from former American Idol contestants.

We just got new albums from Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze and Christian artist Mandisa.

We’re awaiting new albums from Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery and Season 12 winner Candice Glover and a host of others.

Chris Sligh from Season 6 of American Idol has released three albums in one with "This is Life."

There’s even a Christmas album from Kelly Clarkson to look forward to.

But here’s a surprise: Not one album’s worth of material, but three from Season 6 finalist Chris Sligh.

Chris, who finished 10th that year, has released “This is Life,” a 37-song collection that can be purchased from his website for $14.99.

The music is also available as three separate albums, for $12.50 each, including the 14-track “This is Worship,” the 12-track “This is Love” and the 11-track “This is Everything.”

If you’d like to know more before purchasing, Chris has made it easy. You can head to his website to listen to snippets of 11 songs, including the intriguingly titled “Poorly Written Love Song,” which opens album number two; and “Why?” which Chris describes as his favorite among all the songs he’s written.

This marks the third official release from Chris since he appeared on Idol, following a pair of Christian albums — “Running Back to You” in 2008 and “The Anatomy of Broken” in 2010.

He’s also enjoyed success as a songwriter, co-writing a number one hit for Rascal Flatts called “Here Comes Goodbye” that was nominated for a Grammy in 2010.

On his website, you’ll also find a honest assessment of what he’s been through on Idol and an explanation of why this will be his last album.

Now, here’s “Why.”
