1. The Swon Brothers: With the live shows a wee bit shy of overwhelming male solo talent, I can see this twosome becoming a fan favorite, and their fate rests in the fans’ hands from this point on. “Drift Away” was a wonderful knockout round song choice. Zach sounded great, the harmonies were spot on, and he and Colton have already gone farther than any other duo on the show.

2. Danielle Bradbery: After going up-tempo the first two rounds — singing Taylor Swift’s “Mean” and “Put Your Records On” — this teen from Texas decided to slow things down in the knockout round. She tackled Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel.” And, wow, pretty much pitch perfect from the word go. It was one of the best performances on Night 2 of the knockout round.

3. Holly Tucker: Another Texan, Holly turned four chairs at her blind audition and sounded fantastic showing off her big voice on “Blown Away” in the battle round. “Live Like You’re Dying” wasn’t quite as special in the knockout round against Luke Edgemon, and it’s going to take special performances to attract the votes on this team full of country singers.

4. Justin Rivers: He turned just one chair during his blind audition, but don’t underestimate this guy from Alabama. He’s got experience, having performed for years with a country-Christian band named Austins Bridge. The group won a Dove Award back in 2008. He sang one of my all time least favorite songs (“The Climb”) in the knockout round to best Savannah Berry.
