Ready for the Grammys?

Got your 3-D glasses?

If you haven’t heard, there’s one part of tonight’s show (8 p.m. CBS) that you’ll apparently need 3D glasses to fully appreciate.

And it involves Michael Jackson and two of American Idol’s most familiar former contestants — Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson.

According to the Grammy Web site, Carrie, Jennifer, Celine Dion, Usher and Smokey Robinson will be singing along with the voice of Michael Jackson during a special tribute to the King of Pop.

The tribute will also include a showing of a 3-D mini-movie for “Earth Song.” Before his death, the movie was intended to be part of Michael’s “This Is It” tour and has never been seen by the public.

Of course, that will change tonight.

You can get the 3-D glasses at Target. The best news: They’re free. So says the Grammy Web site.

Of course, five Idols are nominated for Grammys tonight: Carrie, Kelly Clarkson, Mandisa, Ruben Studdard and Trenyce. (Go here for a list of what they’re nominated for and who they’re up against.)

Presenters, naturally, include Ryan Seacrest. I’m sure we’ll catch a glimpse of other Idols as well.

And I’ll be blogging live throughout the evening and providing pics of Idols and non-Idols.

Other performers include Lady Gaga (can’t wait to see what she shows up wearing), Beyonce, the Dave Matthews Band, Green Day and the Black-Eyed Peas.
