Sophie Powers, minus her band-aid and plus a new look post-American Idol

Sophie Powers certainly created a stir with her appearance on American Idol Sunday night.

Just check out the 858 comments on this sites Facebook’s post (below), where some thought her appearance was a waste of airtime, others thought it was inappropriate for a family show, while many, many others found it was a refreshing change of pace.

Or, as one commenter called it “genius and absolutely funny.”

Well, at midnight, Sophie dropped her Idol audition song “STFU” to streaming sites, releasing it as Pixl Girl and Sophie Powers.

It’s a longer version of the “absolute tearjerker” (not) she performed on Idol, minus all the bleeps, of course.

And Sophie, a pop-punk artist with millions of Spotify streams on the music she’s already released, appears to be undergoing something of a musical transformation.

Wondering about that band-aid she wore on her nose on Idol?

Don’t bother. The band-aid is gone, Sophie announces on TikTok. So is her “Glitch” era.

In fact, she scrubbed her Instagram and Facebook clean around the time of her Idol audition.

Now she’s teasing what appears to be a catchy new song called “Move with Me.”

Sophie, of course, did not advance to Hollywood on American Idol.

The Idol judges, while humored by her performance, didn’t think she was a good fit for the show.

I’m pretty sure her goal wasn’t a golden ticket anyway.

“I’m so happy to have discovered you and your music thanks to idol!!” writes a new fan on Sophie’s Facebook page.

That, I suspect, was Sophie Powers’ goal.
