Wilkes, a Top 24 contestant on Season 14 of The Voice, has already released his first post-show single.

During his exit interview with Voice Views, Wilkes promised new music “as soon as humanly possible.”

Who would have thought it would happen less than a month after his elimination from The Voice?

But it did.

The singer-songwriter from Georgia just released the up-tempo, country-flavored single “Good to Be Us.”

“Perfect for a Saturday drive with the windows down,” Wilkes wrote on Instagram.

Judging from social media, fans are loving the new tune. And it appears more Wilkes music is on the way.

Wilkes has been teasing five song titles — “Good to Be Us” is one of them — on Facebook along with a mystery date — –/–/2018. An EP perhaps?

Here’s what he told Voice Views after leaving the show following a superb live playoff performance of “Don’t Speak” …

“I’ve had songs stocked piling for a couple of years now and feel really good about all of them. I will choose a handful that I feel resonate with the current moment and get them out immediately,” said Wilkes, 34 when he auditioned for the show.”

Wilkes, 34, when he auditioned for The Voice, previously released two EPs and a single under his own name. He was previously a member of the Christian rock bands High Flight Society and Disciple.

Head to iTunes to check out “Good to Be Us.”
