Season 11, Season 11 in Vegas

Wish granted: Full Vegas performances are online

Thank you, Nigel Lythgoe, for granting one of my biggest Idol wishes.

I checked out americanidol.com this morning and, lo and behold, there they were — the full version of every Vegas group performance.

In a heartbeat, I was able to check out Lancaster’s own Naomi Gillies, Hollie Cavanagh and Marissa Pontecorvo perform a medley of “Mr. Sandman” and “Please, Mr. Postman.”

We haven’t seen Naomi sing since her audition, but she sounded great.

We haven’t seen Hollie sing on Idol since Season 10. She sounded even better.

Marissa didn’t sound quite as good. And she’s the only member of the threesome eliminated last night.

Anyway, in my mind, these videos just make the Idol process so much fairer.

The show can’t possibly show full-length performances of all the groups on the show. Some contestants inevitably get shortchanged.

And, in past years, we’ve had contestants show up in semifinals whom we’ve barely heard sing.

This way, a dedicated Idol fan will be able to listen to all the performances before the voting begins.

I can’t wait to hear more from Hallie Day and Baylie Brown.

From Joshua Ledet and David Leathers Jr.

So have at it, Idol fans. Head to americanidol.com and listen to them all.

And thank you, Nigel.

For starters, here’s Naomi and Hollie.
