A label deal for Allison Iraheta, Halo Circus

Remember the news that Allison Iraheta had joined a new band called Halo Circus.

Well, Halo Circus now has a record contract, according to Yahoo Music.

Plus a date on which the group will release a first single: Oct. 8.

The song is called “Gone” (you can listen to a version below). It’s actually the first song the three founding band members — Allison, guitarist David Immerman and producer Matthew Hager — wrote together, even before they formed the band.

The single will be released by the indie label Manimal Vinyl with four versions of the tune available, including a radio version and a version in Spanish, Allison’s native language.

According to Yahoo, an album should follow next year.

Allison, 21, finished fourth back on Season 8 of Idol, released an album called “Just Like You,” and married new band mate Hager back in May.

Clearly, she still has fans out there.

Among the tweets that followed the news:

* “It’s about time. Y’all are too good to not be signed to a label.”

* “Thrilled for you, Allison. This voice must be heard.”

* “I am counting down the days until Oct. 8th starting right now.”

As someone who would have loved to have seen an Adam Lambert-Allison Iraheta finale in Season 8, I’d echo the second Tweet.

Here’s “Gone.”
