Anthony Fedorov (FOX Photo)Seems like 2011 is the year for long-awaited debut albums from for American Idol contestants.

Last month, we got the debut CD “Everything” from season four’s Anwar Robinson.

After hearing the lead single, I’m anxiously awaiting April’s release of “Without Regret” from Kimberly Caldwell. (Check out “Desperate Girls and Stupid Boys” in the featured video section to your right).

And now comes word that we’ll soon get new music from another of season four’s finalists, Anthony Fedorov.

A press release issued this week announced Anthony’s signing with Airgo Music and the upcoming release of an EP entitled “Never Over.”

An announcement about a lead single and the track list will come later this month, the release says. The EP’s release will coincide with the Tokyo performances of “The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Anthony plays Joseph in the musical, produced by Minnesota’s Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. The Tokyo performances are set for March 3-14. (Go here for an interview Anthony did about the play.)

As for the EP, Anthony seems understandably excited.

After spending last Monday in the studio he wrote on Facebook: “Long day, but the music is coming out great. Had to go back and fix some things on one of the songs that I wrote that’s going to be in the record…One if producers and I took the song apart and put it back together now instead of a good song, I now have a potential hit song!”

And he added this: “Six years in the making. This record will be worth the wait.”

Editor’s Note: Anthony finished fourth in season four. For a look back at his Idol performances, click on the 9 Years of Idol tab above, then click on his name under Season 4. You’ll find past performances from lots of other past seasons there as well.
