Carrie Underwood might have been shut out Wednesday night at the Taylor Swift dominated County Music Association awards.

But she woke to some pretty good news Thursday morning.

“Play On” debuts at number one this week on the Billboard 200.

It’s the third Idol album to accomplish that feat this year, following Kelly Clarkson’s “All I Ever Wanted” and Daughtry’s “Leave This Town.”

What’s more, “Cowboy Casanova,” the lead single off the album, is now number one on the country singles chart.

The song leaped over “Welcome to the Future,” the recent hit from CMA co-host Brad Paisley, to reach the top spot.

For a look at all the Billboard charts, gohere. Check back tomorrow, and I’ll have a complete rundown on how Idols did on the charts this week.
