Anyone who follows season seven runner-up David Archuleta on Twitter knows he’s been spending part of his summer in the recording studio, singing Christmas tunes.

And he talks about the photo shoot for the album cover in a video blog posted Monday.

The end result of his efforts will be an album titled “Christmas from the Heart,” due for an Oct. 13 (yeap, pre-Halloween) release.

Fans can pre-order the album now for $9.99 from Amazon, David announced Wednesday.

I won’t be the least bit surprised if it’s one of the most successful Christmas albums by an Idol contestant. In fact, I think I predicted a Christmas album would be in David A’s future at the end of season seven. It’s sort of a natural fit.

Amazon hasn’t listed the album tracks yet, so I can’t tell you what Christmas tunes David will be singing.

Meanwhile, if you’re a David A. fan and don’t mind traveling to Atlantic City, N.J., he’ll be performing a show there with Demi Lovato on Sunday, Nov. 1, with a special start time of 4 p.m.

The show, at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, is a makeup for an Aug. 22 concert. Tickets sold for the original date will still be honored. Tickets range from $39.50 to $49.50 and are available through Ticketmaster.
