Simon Cowell has already predicted that Adam Lambert will win American Idol.

Of course, he had David Archuleta winning last year’s finale in a knockout … and look what happened.

Yahoo has predicted an Adam victory in season eight based on an analysis of searches.

But I don’t know how an analysis of searches takes into account how the Danny Gokey supporters will vote this week.

In the song-by-song grades I’ve doled out this season, Adam Lambert turned in the best performance on seven of 10 performance shows and turned in the second best performance once.

Kris Allen: The best performance once, the second best twice. And I still expect Wednesday’s results to be neck and neck.
