Phillip’s ‘Home’ video to premiere on FOX tonight

If Phillip Phillips’ “Home” needed more exposure, it will get it tonight.

The video for the song will premiere on tonight’s 8 p.m. episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Phillip won’t be there. Hopefully, he’ll be performing in Washington, D.C., with the rest of the top 10 from Season 11.

But the song has turned into something of an Idol sensation, especially since being used as the theme song for the U.S. gymnastics team during the Olympics.

Last week, the song was number 98 on iTunes download chart.

After being featured during the Olympics, it zipped all the way to number one.

It made a similar leap on Billboard’s digital download chart, zooming from number 47 to number one.

Meanwhile, Phillip seems to have gained appreciation for a song he pretty much dissed in a post-victory interview.

In a recent interview with ew.com, he said this about “Home:” “I never said anything bad about the song; I just said it’s not really my style. I’m more into jazz stuff. But it’s an amazing song, and I love it. Each time I play it, I’m getting it more and making it more of me. The more I play it, I have a lot more fun with it, and the band, they’ll change it up. So it’s coming to be a lot more me. It used to be I just kind of went in blind with a song that I didn’t really know, but it’s coming along a lot better now, and I’m enjoying it.”

And if you haven’t seen the video … here it is.
