Hooray! Allison Iraheta is back. As I’ve blogged here on a couple of occasions, the Season 8 Idol standout has joined a new band, Halo Circus.
Season 3 Voice winner Cassadee Pope released her long-awaited debut album today. And as of 10 a.m., the album was sitting at number seven on the iTunes albums chart and at number one on the iTunes country album chart. By 2:30 p.m., the album had advanced to number six on the overall chart.

His audition: Preston Pohl, 26, of Hallettsville, Texas, sang “Electric Feel” by MGMT, prompting Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green to turn around in a heartbeat. Adam complimented him on turning “Electric Feel” into a Marvin (Gaye) song and for his conviction to what he was singing.
Her audition: Timyra-Joi (Beatty), 15, of San Diego, Calif., sang Alicia Keys’ “This Girl is On Fire,” and was on fire, prompting Christina to turn around in a heartbeat. Right before the song ended, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton spun around, too. Adam Levine called Timyre-Joi “an unpolished diamond.” Background: Timyra-Joi’s mom says she…
His audition: James Irwin, 31, of St. Louis, Missouri, sang R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion.” Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green turned their chairs almost immediately, soon followed by Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. His audition: R. Anthony, 33, of Tampa, Fla., sang “Hall of Fame” by The Script. Christina Aguilera turned well into the performance; Cee Lo Green joined her at the very last moment. Cee Lo said it wasn’t because he was indecisive. It was because he was enjoying the “compelling quality” in R. Anthony’s voice. Background:…
Her audition: Monika Leigh, 28, of Boulder, Colorado, auditioned with the B.B. King hit “The Thrill is Gone.” Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine turned their chairs early in the performance, joined at almost the last moment by Blake Shelton.
