Daron Lameek of The Voice Season 28

His audition: Daron Lameek, 35, ofQueens, N.Y., performed “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie. Daron’s joyful delivery of the classic tune earned chair turns from Michael Buble and Reba McEntire. Hey,, and check that out: Daron has been performing with The Commodores. Reba called his audition “wonderful” and said he’s a great singer with a great look. Michael said Daron was so impressive, he feared he’d be blocked. Daron decided to join Team Reba.

Here’s more about Daron:

* On SoundBetter.com, he describes himself as a veteran singer with an R&B and pop influenced sound “that I like to gospel up every once in a while.”

* He’s also released music, in the form of a 2014 EP called “All Summer” and a 2021 six-song project called “June Gemini.”

* Daron started work on the latter project during the COVID lockdown with the goal of creating a project filled with feel-good music. Check out a live performance of “One More Round” from the EP below.

* He’s from Queens and still based in New York. Daron says in his Spotify bio that he grew up in church and taught himself to play piano. But it wasn’t until he was 19 that he started getting serious about singing.

* On SouhdBetter, he says he’s since worked with the likes of Ray Chew, Yolanda Adams, Dionne Warwick and Mariah Carey.

* He’s also been performing with event bands through On the Move Entertainment in New York. In an Instagram post, he indicates he’s been making a living “off talent” for 10 years and expects to continue doing so.

* Daron also hosts open mic events. His own favorite artist to cover. “Nine times out of 10, I might sing a Brandy song,” he writes.
