His audition: Emmanuel Rey, 27, of Inglewood, Calif., performed “Primera Cita” by Carin Leon. A nice tone from Emmanuel earned quick chair turns from Michael Buble and Snoop Dogg. He’s sang the entire song in Spanish. And Emmanuel began working the stage impressively after getting those chair turns. Michael called his performance and delivery super romantic. Snoop said Emmanuel sounded amazing. He also loved the confidence in his performance. Emmanuel joined Team Snoop.

Here’s more about Emmanuel:

* His full name is Emmnuel Rey Hernandez and he’s a second-grade teacher in the Los Angeles area.

* He’s also preparing to release a debut single, a song he say his students “approved.”

* Emmanuel is a 2020 graduate of the University of California Irvine. He has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and social behavior and education sciences.

* As of Sept. 1, Emmanuel had 300 followers and 2,700 likes on his TikTok where he demonstrates his ability as a bilingual singer.

* He hinted at something big on the horizon in a May Instagram post celebrating his birth, telling followers to stay tuned and adding: “There’s power in trying and even more in trusting…still processing…still pinching myself.”

* Emanuel has since announced that he’s releasing his debut single Friday, three days before The Voice premiere. It’s a song called “Ilusionado,” and you can check out a snippet of it here. Writes Emmanuel: “Throughout my years as a singer, one question I would often get would be, “Do you have any music out?”, and I would always say I’m working on it. Well as of next Friday, I will finally be able to say that I do. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout this journey. There is a lot more coming!!!”
