Meet Hollywood bound Erica Young

0

Erica Young started singing in her father’s church when she was young.

And that’s all it took to hook her.  “I really knew that’s what I wanted to do.”

Erica, of Alamogordo, N.M., was 28 when she tried out and admits that her friends threatened her to do it, in part because it’s her last year of Idol eligibility.

She said she was thrilled to get a “yes” from Jennifer Lopez during her audition, then see Jennifer give Randy Jackson a look the said, “you’d better agree with me.”

Besides her voice and the fact that’s she’s the girl-next-door with a little diva mixed in, Erica says she thinks her personality sets her apart.

“I can go and talk to anyone like I’ve know them for years,” she says in her golden ticket interview. “My personality is highly contagious and intoxicating, and I can get everyone drunk, just (from) being around me.”
