Here’s more about Jacquie.
* For longtime music show fans, this is more of a re-introduction than an introduction. That’s because Jacquie finished second on Season 5 of The Voice as Jacquie Lee back in 2013.
* Auditioning at the age of 15, Jacquie turned just two chairs with her performance of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” in the blind auditions. But she went on to put together a string of fearless, vocally superlative performances, finishing second only to the much more experienced Tessanne Chin.
* From Colts Neck, N.J., she eventually relocated to Los Angeles and shortened her stage name to Jacquie. She’s since been one of the most prolific former Voice contestants in terms of releasing new music, dropping an EP a year since 2020.
* “Break” from her 2020 EP “Infinity” has more than 1.2 million streams on Spotify. “Hereditary” from her 2024 EP by the same name is brilliant. An even better representation of Jacquie’s vocal versatility is the addictive “Red” from her “Rinascita” EP.
* Participating on The Voice at such a young age came at a price. Jacquie has said she was affected by negative comments on social media. She eventually developed bulimia, an issue that came to a head when she got dizzy, fell and fractured her skull at New York Fashion Week in 2017. She went on to work with Project Heal to raise awareness of eating disorders.
* She also found herself in a struggle for creative freedom over her sound, telling Galore she wanted to be “a writer/ artist and not just a pop vocalist off a reality TV show that people could use as a vehicle to make fast money.” She speaks eloquently about her post-Voice music experience in this TikTok.
* In an end-of-year message to fans, Jacquie said “2025 for me was such a beautiful year,” adding that she decluttered her life, “was a lot kinder to myself,” “worked through a lot of things internally, especially a fear of being seen and being heard.”
* At that point, she’d just been heard, performing at the Give a Smile Gala that also featured Kelsey Grammer and Robin Thicke. The organization provides complimentary dental services for underprivileged children.
* As for her Idol audition, Jacquie announced that in November, writing: “Regardless of what happens – I am truly grateful to be able to heal my inner child through reclaiming my voice and never giving up🖤. You’ve always got time.”
* “You’ve Got Time,” by the way, happens to be the name of one of three singles Jacquie released in 2025. Check out the live version of another of those songs, the excellent “Pray for Me,” below.
