Here’s more about Jazz:
* She’s a 31-year-old soul singer from Birmingham, Alabama and a graduate of Alabama A&M University.
* On HeardFirst.com, her bio says her sound is often described as “grits” — a warm, southern essence that’s as comforting as it is full of emotion.
* And in an interview to promote a June event called Platinum Weekend in Huntsville, Ala., Jazz describes herself as an “old soul” in terms of her musical tastes.
* Jazz says she grew up in a musical household. Her mother sang and so did both of her grandparents.
* She got her start on the Huntsville music scene around 2018 with the help of an organization called R&B Vibes and has been performing in the area ever since.
* Along the way, she’s had the opportunity to open for James Fortune, Adia, Chrisette Michele, Cupid, Doug E. Fresh and Pleasure P.
* On Instagram, Jazz credits her time singing witht he Alabama A&M Gospel Choir for helping her break out of her musical shell. “I would be so nervous to sing out and lead, but the gospel choir along w/ Mr. Moore helped push me past my fear & boost my confidence.”
* Jazz has also been performing as the lead female singer with The Back Beat Band, a wedding and event band.
