Kirbi from The Voice Season 28

Kirbi from The Voice Season 28

Her audition: Kirbi, 24, of Florence, Ala., performed “God Only Knows” for King and Country. Kirbi showed off great range. And she got chair turns from Niall Horan and Michael Buble before she reached the chorus. That seemed to give her a confidence boost because she started working the stage more. And got chair turns from Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire as well. There’s an ethereal quality to her voice. Niall called her performance next level. Reba points out that she and Kirbi have a lot in common in terms of their preferred genres. Snoop compliments her for staying true to her faith during the audition. Kirbi decided to join Team Niall.

Here’s more about Kirbi:

* She’s Savanna Kirby, a singer-songwriter from Florence, Alabama, who’s been based in Nashville since 2023.

* And she’s released music as Kirbi, four singles in 2025, in fact. They include “Prettiest Problem,” “It Ain’t One Day Yet,” “Waiting on the Rain” and “Closer to Heaven.”

* The latter is her latest release, dropping in late August. Don Quinn wrote the song. Kirbi released it as a dedication to her grandmother.

* Says Kirbi: “I recorded this song … before I knew that my beautiful Grandmother would be leaving us. Now, I’m releasing it in dedication to her. I carry her with me everywhere I go, and I know that I will see her again one day.” Check out a snippet of the song below.

* In an interview with ModernDayCountry.com, Kirbi says she grew up on stages, first as a dancer starting at age 3, then as a singer at age 11.

* And since she grew up in the Muscle Shoals area of Alabama, she grew up listening to the music of Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge and James Brown, which left an impression on her vocal style.

* I”’m an Alabama girl, so you can definitely hear that in me,” Kirbi told ModernDayCountry.com. “But there’s elements of those old Shoals soul artists in my vocal style.”

* After announcing her upcoming appearance on The Voice, Kirbi took to social media with what she called “a vulnerable post” admitting she lost heself for a while and “it wasn’t until around November of 2024 that The Lord began to lift me out of the dark places I spent a lot of time in.”

* She goes on to call 2025 “one of the most hard, but most blessed years of my life. I just had to come on here and say how faithful the Lord is.”
