Leyton Robinson of The Voice Season 28

Leyton Robinson of The Voice Season 28

Her audition: Leyton Robinson, 23, of Rogers, Ark. performed “Weren’t for the Wind” by Ella Langley. She showed off a nice unique country tone. And she sings with lots of power and passion. That earned her a chair turn from Snoop Dogg. She’s well into the song when Reba McEntire turns. And Leyton’s face lit up when that happened. Snoop said Leyton has a wonderful voice and lots of charisma. Reba said she hesitated to turn because she has lots of country singers on her team. Then she fell in love with Leyton’s voice. Leyton joined Team Reba.

Here’s more about Leyton:

* She’s a singer-songwriter who hails from Rogers, Arkansas. But she’s now based in Nashville.

* On her website, the describes her voice as delivering “hints of Natalie Maines and Stevie Nicks” and “real country with a soulful tone.”

* You can check out Leyton’s tone on four singles she has on streaming sites, starting with a song called “Wild Things” that she released in 2021.

* She just dropped her latest single, called “Way Past Worth It” on Sept. 9. On Instagram, she calls it “one of my favorite songs I have written and I’ve been wanting to share it for so long.” Check out a snippet of the song below.

* Leyton also arrives at The Voice with some singing show experience. In 2023, she auditioned for Season 21 of American Idol.

* Her audition didn’t air, but she earned a golden ticket to Hollywood and told her local TV station she gained confidence through the experience.

* “I think it was just like a moment where I felt like I can really do this for myself,” she told the station. “It’s not just my family and my friends saying, ‘Oh, I think you’re pretty good.’ … It was three major people saying, ‘We believe in you, and we see something you have that people would love.’ And so that was empowering for me.”

* Leyton is a 2024 graduate of the University of Arkansas.

* And in addition to her own music, she’s a featured vocalist on three tracks of a fine 2024 album called “The Painted Lady of the Plains” by James Maltese, featuring Grammy winning guitar player and vocalist Trey Hensley.
