Ralph Edwards of The Voice Season 28

Ralph Edwards of The Voice Season 28

His audition: Ralph Edwards, 30, of Fresno, Calif., performed “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. Ralph said he’s tried out for The Voice 11 times and never made it to the point where he got to audition for the coaches. Well, his big voice sure made an impression when he finally did. All four coaches turned his way in rapid succession. Niall called his performance phenomenal. Michael said whoever lands Ralph will win The Voice. Snoop brought out some of his Season 26 team members to show his commitment to artists on his team. He loved the distinctive nature of Ralph’s vocals. Ralph decided to join Team Snoop.

Here’s more about Ralph:

* He’s the lead singer for VibeCheck, an event band based in Fresno, Calif.

* According to the band’s website, the five-man group is known for its “eclectic mix of R&B, pop, funk, reggae, and rock.”

* They specialize in covering artists like Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Usher, Luther Vandross and have been performing together since 2023.

* VibeCheck is Ralph’s full-time career, according to his bio on that site. It says his goal is to reach as many people as possible through his music.

* In fact, just two days before The Voice premiere, the band will be performing at its own three-year anniversary party at The Howlin Wolf in Fresno.

* There’s a video of him performing for his family at the tender age of 3, and he was in choirs from middle school through college.

* He’s been singing and posting covers to social media for quite a while. Twelve years ago, before he began posting solo covers, he was performing with a male friend as Skool Boyz.

* Pre-Voice, Ralph has nearly 1,800 followers and nearly 7,500 likes on his TikTok.
