Her audition: Vinya Chhabra, 14, of East Brunswick, N.J., performed “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. Vinya showed off great showmanship for someone so young. But she was well into the song before chairs started turning. When they did, Reba McEntire, Michael Buble and Snoop Dogg turned in rapid succession. Reba said she could tell VInya was young, but loved her energy and attitude. Snoop said Vinya delivered a powerful voice for someone so young. Michael loved her audition too and the fact that she was so composed at such a young age. Vinya opted to join Team Reba.

Here’s more about Vinya:

* She’s a talented teen from New Jersey who will be one of the youngest contestants on Season 28. And she arrives with lots of performance experience for someone so young.

* Much of that performance experience comes via Kids Rock for Kids (KRFK), a Brooklyn-based non-profit designed to help talented young musicians use their voices to uplift others.

* In June, she was one of the lead vocalists for the KRFK house band when it performed at The Governors Ball festival in New York.

* She’s versatile too. Take her August social media post of a cover of “Bags” by Clairo. She not only sings the cover, she plays guitar, bass, keys and drums. And judging from an online bio, she plays ukulele too.

* Vinya is now lead singer for a band called Behind the Sky that is about to release its first single, “Smoke and Mirrors.” You can check out a snippet of Vinya’s vocal here.

^ And on Sunday, Vinya was lead vocalist for Your Majesty at the 50th annual Flatbush Frolic. You can check out a Your Majesty original called “Nova Kane” here.

* Vinya’s also part of a group of teens who put together 355 The Musical in conjunction with 54 Below in New York. The first single from the musical — “Point of No Return” — dropped in August and Vinya is featured on the song.

* She has lots of other musical theater experience as well. In an April social media post, she writes that she had seven shows in eight days, including four performances of 13 The Musical at her school.

* In her bio on Backstage.com, Vinya writes that she’s been learning music since age 5.

* Pre-Voice, Vinya has more than 1,000 followers and nearly 8,000 likes on her TikTok.
