Three more singers turned all three coaches chairs as auditions continued on The Voice Season 29 Monday night.
Mike Steele, Hunter Jordan and J.W. Griffin were the three-chair turn artists.
Mike joined Team Legend as his first three-chair turn of the season. Kelly landed J.W. Griffin.
But the surprise came with the last performance of the night. Country singer Hunter Jordan showed up expecting to choose Team Kelly if Kelly Clarkson turned.
She did, but Adam Levine was determined to land a country singer, delivered an impassioned pitch and lured Hunter to his team.
That also gave Adam a 3-2 lead over Kelly in the show’s new triple turn competition.
Here’s a recap. Following the links will take you to a profile of the singer complete with info on music they’ve already released.

BEST OF THE NIGHT
Mike Steele, 28, of Mississippi, “For Tonight” by Giveon: He demonstrates a superb tone on the first few notes. Within a couple of lines, both Adam Levine and John Legend are facing in his direction. A high note prompts Kelly to turn as well. He completed a silky smooth cover of the Giveon hit. Kelly is shocked that his singing voice and deep talking voice don’t match. John complimented him on the cool choices he made during the performance and the richness and depth of his baritone voice. Adam echoes that praise. Mike picked Team Legend. Grade: A
RUNNERS-UP
Kendra Remedios, 31, Arlington, Texas, “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town: Wow, love that rasp in her voice on the opening lines. And that’s all it takes to turn John Legend’s chair. Really nice vocal from Kendra, and I have no idea why the other coaches aren’t budging. She is showing off so many wonderful shades of her voice in this performance. Dang, and John’s the only turn. Unbelievable. Kelly assures her one of the reasons she didn’t turn is that she already has country artists on her team. John loved the crackle in her voice and says he’s glad he didn’t have to fight the other coaches for her. Grade: A–
Hunter Jordan, 22, Kentucky, “Let Me Down Easy” by Billy Currington: Hunter has a nice country tone and some nice power behind it. That prompts quick chair turns from Adam Levine and John Legend. When Hunter hits the chorus, Kelly Clarkson turns as well. Hunter performs with impressive passion. Adam says he knows “greatness when I hear it” and makes a passionate pitch to land a country singer. Kelly and John remind him that he doesn’t have to do just country on the show. Hunter decided to join Team Adam. Grade B+
ALSO MADE THE SHOW
Adi Aora, New Jersey, “It Will Rain,” Bruno Mars: Wow, talk about a crystal clear tone. This guy has an excellent voice. And performs with lots of passion. He gets an early chair turn from John Legend. Kelly Clarkson turns midway through the song. Adi ends with a great falsetto. John said he loved Adi’s tone and noted that he shares an a cappella background with the Cornell student. Adi decides to join Team Legend. Grade B+
J.W. Griffin, 25, Georgia, “Long Haired Country Boy” by Charlies Daniels: J.W. shows off a nice country tone, earning a quick chair turn from Kelly Clarkson. Before he even hits the chorus, Adam Levine and John Legend turn as well. Adam says J.W. has one of his favorite voices he’s ever heard on the show, calling it special, soulful and unique. Kelly calls him a great story teller with great range. John reminds J.W. that he’s taken a country artist to the finals on The Voice in the past. He chose Team Kelly. Grade B
Blaire Elbert, 28, Lubbock, Texas, “Wide Rollin’ Plains”: Well, there’s no question that this young woman is a country artist. She’s a former member of a young girl group called the Cactus Cuties. And she unleashes her yodel skills during the audition, prompting a chair turn from Kelly Clarkson. Dang, this woman can yodel. And ends with an impressive high note. That was fun. John Legend likes the rasp in her voice. Kelly liked the control her yodel showed. Grade: B
Moses G., 31, Harlem, N.Y., “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart: Excellent opening on this classic hit. Moses has an impressive deep voice. He’s turning in a very solid performance. But it took forever for anyone to turn. At nearly the last moment, Adam Levine did. No idea what the other two coaches were hearing. John called his voice “so cool.” Adam liked the different attack on the song. He liked his rasp and cool vibe too. Grade: B
Tia Durant, 32, Sumter, S.C., “Midnight Train to Georgia” by Gladys Knight & The Pips: Within three lines, Tia shows off impressive range. She sounds especially powerful on the chorus, and that entices chair turns from Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson. She end strong, but John Legend doesn’t budge. Adam compliments Tia on an amazing pure voice. Kelly says she doesn’t have anyone on her team who sounds like Tia. Tia joined Team Kelly. Grade: B–
Bijou Belle, 17, Rapid City, S.D., “Wildflower” by Billie Eilish: Her sensitive opening earns a chair turn from Adam Levine within just a few notes. Bijou performs with impressive emotion for someone so young. Her voice swells impressively near the end of the song, but the other coaches don’t turn, meaning Bijou will automatically become Team Adam. Kelly liked the power she showed with her vocal. Adam loved the strong opening to the performance and her beautiful tone. Grade: B–
Jaali Boyd, 25, Baltimore, Md., “No Air” by Jordin Sparks: Jaali delivers silky smooth vocals and is especially strong on the chorus. Her pitch is straying here and there. Kelly said she loved the confidence Jaali showed and the way she focused on the performance, not the coaches. Adam says she’s a very special talent who blew his mind wide open. And he notes there are lots of talented females already on Kelly’s team. Jaali joins Team Adam. Grade: C+
