Male singer-songwriters Mor Ilderton and Chris Tungseth scored the most popular auditions on American Idol last week based on YouTube views.

And it wasn’t even close. Both had more than 240,000 views on their audition videos as of noon Saturday.

The next closest was Jayson Garner with nearly 130,000 views at that point.

Mor, 22, from Hurricane, W.Va., performed an original song called “Strong,” a song about never getting to know his mom. She died when Mor was 2 years old. Luke Bryan said he has all the tools to be successful on the show.

Mor also earned a spot on Season 26 of The Voice in the fall of 2024, but left the competition prior to the knockout round.

Chris, 27, of Fergus Falls, Minn., was featured on Monday’s show as the final contestant to audition for Season 29.

He also auditioned with an original, a song he wrote for his late father called “Lonely.” The coaches loved his voice and his delivery.

The list below shows YouTube views as of noon Saturday for the auditions Idol posted to the site. For the life of me, I have no idea why Idol didn’t post the auditions of Julia Sienna, the officer who put Luke Bryan in handcuffs while she performed, or Brenna Brigman, who delivered an absolutely wonderful a cappella version of “My Church.”

Following the links will take you to a profile of the singer, complete with information about music they’ve already released.
