3 former Idol songs on tap for Top 7 tonight

1

Late last week, American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe tweeted that we’d be hearing two Kelly Clarkson songs on American Idol tonight.

Turns out we’ll be hearing three songs from former Idols.

Mjsbigblog posted a list of songs being performed tonight about an hour ago.

In addition to “Don’t You Want to Stay” and “Stronger,” someone tonight will perform Kellie Pickler’s “Don’t Know How Much I Loved You.”

The list of songs doesn’t say who’s singing what, but you’d have to think the Kellie or the Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson number will be performed by Skylar Laine.

After all, both are ballads, and she scored big time with a ballad last week.

Other songs we’ll be hearing tonight include “You and I” by Lady Gaga; “Perfect” by Pink; “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars; “Stuttering” by Jazmine Sullivan; “Give a Little More” by Maroon Five; “Love the Way You Lie” by Skylar Grey; and “Someone I Used to Know” by Gotye.

That’s 10 songs, which means we’ll get two duets and a trio tonight in addition to the seven solo performances.

In a separate tweet Nigel revealed that “Somebody I Used to Know” will be one of tonight’s duets.

Sounds like we’re in for a night of good music on American Idol.

Meanwhile, if you missed it …
