4 Idols on Billboard’s 2012 Top Artists list

Billboard has released its year-end charts, and they’re littered with former Idols.

Four Idol champs finished in the top 100 on Billboard’s Top Artists of 2012 chart, and they’re all former winners.

Kelly Clarkson topped two year-ending Billboard charts. (AP Photo)Kelly Clarkson led the pack at number 16, squeezing in between Carly Rae Jepsen at 15 and Lady Gaga at 17. Adele, of course, topped the chart.

Other Idols landing spots included Carrie Underwood at number 31, Scotty McCreery at 93 and Phillip Phillips at 95.

Carrie and Scotty finished fifth and seventh, respectively, on the year-end country albums chart, and Kelly Clarkson’s single “Stronger” was seventh on the 2012 Hot 100 singles chart.

“Stronger” also topped the adult contemporary song chart for 2012 and helped Kelly land the top spot on the adult pop artist chart.

Over on the Christian charts, Season 5 Idol contestant Mandisa landed eighth among 2012 albums (“What If We Were Real”) and 31st among 2012 singles (“Waiting for Tomorrow”).
