R.J. will forever be the first Idol contestant to make the finals as a wild card selection. He’s continued to perform since Idol, touring with former Idols and singing tracks on the American Christmas and American Christmas 2 CDs produced by Chenoa Music. He sings “O Holy Night” on the 2010 Christmas album, released Dec. 1 and available on iTunes. According to americanidol.com, R.J. released an album called “Real Life” in 2004 that cracked the top 20 on Billboard’s Christian chart. More music might be coming. On Oct. 10, he tweeted: “In Austin for 6 months, finishing up this record, finally!! Are you ready?”
