If you’re not a fan of waiting in a long line to audition for American Idol Season 15, the show has unveiled yet another quick and easy way to do so.

American Idol has teamed with Starmaker to launch an online competition with the winners getting first-in-line auditions in front of show producers.

All you have to do is download the Starmaker app, record yourself singing to backing tracks that have been licensed by the site and post those videos.

The contest — and voting by the public — is already underway. Head here to check out some of the videos already submitted.

As of Wednesday morning, a singer with the user name jessie-chen was leading in the voting with her cover of Jessie J.’s “Flashlight.”

Now, to be clear, this isn’t strictly a popularity contest. The official rules make it clear that winners will not be determined by voting alone.

But in the end, as many as 11 singers will be invited to sing in front of Idol producers. In a recent article, Variety reported that one of those 11 will get a “last-chance” audition in front of the actual Idol judges in October.

Meanwhile, the in-person auditions for Season 15 are in full swing. Idol stopped in Denver on July 10, is in Savannah, Ga., today (July 22) and has three more stops — Philly on Aug. 2, Little Rock, Ark., on Aug. 8 and San Francisco on Sept. 15.

Those Philly auditions will be held at the Liacouras Center. For all the details, head here.
