Former American Idol contestant Anwar Robinson released his first album Tuesday.Today’s a big day for season four American Idol contestant Anwar Robinson.

Six years after he appeared on the show, Anwar has released his first album, “Everything.”

The 10-track indie album was co-written and produced by Anwar and features the same smooth, heartfelt vocals that helped him finish seventh the year Carrie Underwood took the Idol crown.

“Come Over” is the lead single off the ballad-heavy album. I’d also suggest checking out “All About You” and “L.O.T.P. (Life of the Party),” two tracks with a little more kick. They’re my personal favorites after a quick first listen.

Anwar, 31, from Newark, N.Y., hasn’t exactly been idle since Idol.

In 2009, he released three singles — “Everything,” “Chosen” and “Night’s Hot” — all of which are still available on iTunes.

According to his ReverbNation bio, he also participated in a national and international tour of “Rent” in 2007-08, then  played the lead in a Syracuse University Stage Production of Godspell.

At some point along the way, he also shed the dreadlocks that were part of his signature look on Idol.

Earlier this month, TheCelebrityCafe.com interview Anwar about his new album. Here’s what he had to say: “It’s really like the album of my heart. Like, if you were to take apart my heart and look inside, you would see everything inside it. I want people to feel that. That when I’m signing, I’m singing about things they’ve been through and I’m singing directly to them.”
