Welcome to a new feature of Idol Chatter — a look back at nine years worth of American Idols.
Click on the names of any former Idol finalist below and you’ll be taken to a page that includes videos of their past Idol performances, at least the ones still available on YouTube.
You’ll also find a photo of each contestant from their days on Idol (some of the transformations are pretty wild), plus links to the artist’s Website and Twitter, MySpace and Facebook pages.
It’s amazing how many of the former Idol finalists are still involved in the entertainment industry in one way or another.
The links to the season one finalists also include mini bios, and a video of their more current work. All the links will eventually include those features.
A special thank you to Barb Mundis for tracking down the videos. A special plea to fans: If you know of a Twitter, Facebook or MySpace link I haven’t provided, please pass it along. It’s amazing how many imposters there are out there.
And, finally, an apology to fans of American Idol, season 8. Very few videos of performances from that season still exist on YouTube.
Personally, I think it’s part of a conspiracy to make us forget Idol’s most embarrassing moment — when Adam Lambert wasn’t voted American Idol.
But, hey, if anyone knows of other sites where videos of the performances exist, pass those links along too. I’ll be glad to add them.

youtube doesn’t work on this old work PC anymore but you are definitely missing David Archuleta’s first performance Shop Around and his first Imagine (the one in the black jacket).
Was that in the semifinals? Because I’ve only included performances from the finals so far … except for the people who finished very close to the bottom? I plan to go back later and add more semifinal performances. And thanks for checking it out.
No, ‘Shop Around’ and the
first ‘Imagine’ were from Week 1 and 2, Top 24 and Top 20. The first ‘Imagine’ was what vaulted David to the forefront of the competition in his season. It’s incredible.
The YouTube video of that performance had 2,000,000+ views a couple months after the performance, but they took it down for some unknown reason. (Makes ya wonder.)
