Don’t confuse it with the hit single by The Band Perry; this song is all Jessica’s own.
She told WSFA Channel 12 in Montgomery, Ala., that she wrote the song about two years ago and reworked it for release.
“This is me, evolved as an artist from American Idol,” she says in that interview. “It’s my sound — that country, southern rock, and it’s so me that I’m so proud of it and so proud of everyone who put their time and work into it.”
Jessica finished fourth on Season 13 of American Idol.
The fact that she’s released an impressive first post-show single shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Her “Blue-Eyed Lie” was the best original performed on the show when contestants got to perform their own songs last year.
