Adam Lambert

Like Kris Allen, season eight Idol runnerup Adam Lambert has a record deal.

And, like Kris Allen, we can expect a debut album from Adam in the fall.

19 Entertainment announced Adam’s signing this morning, a day after the company announced signing Kris to a record deal. Adam’s recordings will be licensed to RCA records.

In the press release, Adam says he’s looking forward to “developing a really exciting album. We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It’s going to be ridiculous. Get ready.”

Adam’s recording deal was announced just hours after Rolling Stone and The Associated press reported that the 27-year-old California resident will be on the cover of the next edition of the magazine, due for release this week.

Oh, and he has some interesting things to say about Kris, this year’s Idol winner.

As for his singing, a collection of songs Adam performed on Idol this season is the fifth most downloaded album in the past week, according to Billboard’s digital download charts. His version of “Mad World” ranks 21st among digital singles.
