The singing shows seem to be cranking out lots of new country music lately.
From Season 12 Idol runner-up Kree Harrison, to Season 3 Voice winner Cassadee Pope to Season 4 Voice winner Danielle Bradbery, an awful lot of new or semi-new country singers are vying for the public’s attention.
Here’s a release you might have missed. Season 9 Idol contestant Aaron Kelly recently released a new single, “The Best Thing.”
It’s the second non-Christmas single from the guy who finished fifth on Idol, behind Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox, Casey James and Michael Lynch.
Last March, Aaron released “Coincidence.” I’ve embedded both the singles below.
Now 20, Aaron has relocated to Nashville and is still working on landing a label deal. Both singles were released independently.
Though born in Florida, he’s one of only three Idol finalists with strong Pennsylvania ties, having grown up in Sonestown.
In fact, next month he’ll be back on the Pennsylvania fair circuit, performing at the Fireman’s Carnival in Middleberg on Aug. 10, the Montour-Delong Fair in Danville on Aug. 14 and the McKean County Fair on Aug. 16.
For a complete list of show dates, visit Aaron’s website.
