Adam Lambert Adam Lambert’s new album, “Original High,” debuted at number three on the Billboard 200.

It marks the third straight Top 3 debut on that chart by the singer who was runner-up on American Idol Season 8.

His first album — “For Your Entertainment” back in 2009 — also broke in on the Billboard 200 at number three.

His followup — “Trespassing” in 2012 — topped the chart in its first week with sales of about 77,000 albums.

In contrast, “Original High” sold about 47,000 copies in its first week, according to Billboard.

James Taylor leads this week’s Billboard 200 with his new album, “Before This World.” Believe it or not, it marks the first number one album for the legendary singer-songwriter. It sold 96,000 copies.

Taylor Swift is at number two with her “1989” album, which has been on the chart for 34 weeks.

Meanwhile, “Ghost Town,” the lead single from Adam’s new album, is sitting at number 31 on the Billboard pop chart.
