But runner-up Alejandro Aranda is heading out for a series of summer shows, beginning with a July 8 show in Washington, D.C.
In fact, tickets for that show at the DC9 Nightclub go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. Tickets range from $15-$18.
Other announced tour dates:
July 9 at Baby’s All Right, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
July 10 at Sonia’s Nightclub in Boston, MA
July 11 at Subterranean in Chicago, Ill.
July 13 at Swedish American Hall in San Francisco, Calif.
July 15 at Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, Calif.
July 17 at The Glass House in Pamona, Calif.
After finishing second on American Idol, the 24-year-old was supposed to fly to New York with winner Laine Hardy for a series of press appearances.
But he’s afraid of flying, according to Idol host Ryan Seacrest and got off the plane before it left the ground.
That fear of flying is clearly something he plans on overcoming based on that tour schedule.
Alejandro is fresh off an Idol finale in which he performed four original songs, something that had never been done on the show.
