Aliyah Moulden surprised people when she selected Blake Shelton as her coach on The Voice in the Season 12 blind auditions.
But the teen from La Habra, Calif., said she’s been a fan of The Voice for a long time.
That means she couldn’t help but notice how often a Blake Shelton contestant won. Or how he seemed to connect with his artists.
The pairing worked out just fine.
Spurred by an emotional performance of “Jealous” on Top 10 night, Aliyah made it all the way to the Season 12 finals, the youngest contestant to ever do so.
She finished third, behind only Lauren Duski and Season 12 champion Chris Blue.
