The band has a new EP out, “The East Lansing Sessions,” and a new video for the song “Band-Aid.”
The EP, released Friday, features stripped-down versions of three tracks from the band’s excellent 2016 album “Bunny,” an addictive non-album track called “Stand Up” and a cover of Neil Young’s “Needle and the Damage Done.”
The rocker “Nothing At All” and “All I Have” are two of the songs from “Bunny” that get a stripped-down treatment. “Nothing At All” is especially impressive.
But the EP’s highlight is Allison’s incredibly plaintive vocal on “Band-Aid,” the number one song of 2016 according to PopDust.com.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t caught Allison and Halo Circus live, there will be plenty of chances this spring.
The band is embarking on a 15-date spring tour early next month. It includes a June 25 stop at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh.
You can check out all the dates on the band’s website.
Here’s that new video.
