Allison Iraheta, New Idol Music

Allison Iraheta is back with Halo Circus and ‘Gone’

Hooray! Allison Iraheta is back.

As I’ve blogged here on a couple of occasions, the Season 8 Idol standout has joined a new band, Halo Circus.

Allison Iraheta and Halo Circus has released four versions of a song called “Gone.”[/caption]The group released its first song Tuesday to iTunes, and Allison sounds fabulous on it.

The song is called “Gone” and it’s actually the first song the three founding band members — Allison, guitarist David Immerman and producer Matthew Hager — wrote together, even before they formed the band.

Four different versions of the song are available — individually or as a 4-track EP — including two versions in English and two in Spanish.

The EP was released as Allison Iraheta & Halo Circus, likely to capitalize on the fan base Allison built en route to a fourth-place finish on Idol back in Season 8.

And the track certainly sounds more grown-up than “Friday I’ll Be Over U,” the first post-Idol single Allison released back in 2009.

Allison, now 21, and Halo Circus are planning a debut album for sometime next year.

Here’s the song if you haven’t heard it.
