In the past two seasons of American Idol, the contestants saved by the judges were the first eliminated by voters on the following episodes.
The trend continued Sunday night, when Amanda Barise and Desmond Roberts headed home as the show went from a Top 12 to a Top 14.
The wild card contestants who advanced were Josh King and Che Chesterman. Tonight, we’ll find out if they meet the same fate when Idol’s Top 12 take the stage on a show focusing on iconic Idol moments.
Voting will once again be live, meaning two contestants will head home at the end of the show.
