American Idol continued to trounce The Voice in the Monday night TV ratings this week.

The Voice concluded its Season 27 playoffs this week. American Idol’s Top 8 performed, with a Top 7 reveals and a judge’s save at the end of the show.

American Idol led all shows that night with 0.39 rating amogn 18 to 49 year olds and with 4.28 million viewers.

The Voice finished third in Monday’s ratings, also behind CBS’s “The Neighborhood.”

The Voice had a 0.24 rating among 18 to 49 year olds and an estimated 3.51 million viewers.

American Idol has now topped The Voice in the ratings battle for six straight Mondays. The Voice had been drawing more total viewers when it was airing two hours of fresh content, but that’s no longer the case.

The reason is likely the show’s formats.

American Idol’s top singers have been performing on every episode and fans have been voting to keep their favorites on the show since mid-April.

The Voice’s format has led to just four performances by members of the Top 8 over a 14-week period. Fans have yet to vote on The Voice.

This coming Monday will be the last time the shows go head to head this spring and should be quite telling.

American Idol’s Top 5 will be performing, with the Season 23 finalists revealed at the end of the night.

The Voice will be hosting its semifinals, featuring fan voting for the first time in Season 27.
