The annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game was held Saturday in Nashville, and American Idol was certainly well represented.

The game featured Team Grand Ole Opry playing Team iHeart Radio to raise money for cancer research.

Idol’s Season 16 winner Maddie Poppe and runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson played for Team Grand Ole Opry, which pulled out a 6-5 extra-inning win.

Idol’s third-place finisher Gabby Barrett and Season 10 standout Lauren Alaina played for Team iHeart.

Trent Harmon performed the national anthem.

Lauren has participated in the event before, but told SoundsLikeNashville that this year’s event had special meaning because she was playing for her stepdad.

“We found out a couple months ago that he has cancer and so we’re right in the middle of the battle,” she told the site. “I now know what it feels like to witness that and it’s scary and the worst, so I’m proud to be here.”

The event is held at First Tennessee Park in conjunction with the annual CMA Fest.
