What in the world are American Idol watchers going to speculate about all summer?
After years during which the summer months have been accompanied by rumors about who will or won’t be judges on the show, FOX promptly ended the suspense Monday evening.
The show announced that its Season 13 team of judges — Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban — will be back for Season 14, along with host Ryan Seacrest.
“Jennifer, Keith, Harry and Ryan are the very best in the business at what they do, and I’m thrilled that they are returning to American Idol for another season,” said David Hill, senior executive vice president of 21st Century Fox.
With Idol ratings dropping again in Season 13, there was speculation that the show wouldn’t be able to afford such a star-studded cast, especially Jennifer.
No word about whether Randy Jackson will be returning as mentor.
Apparently, that isn’t the case.
Idol began auditions for Season 14 in Minneapolis last week; they continue with a stop in New Orleans on Wednesday.
