Well, American Idol delivered a top four week filled with drama.

Wednesday night, the judges came down hard on Haley Reinhart, who dared talk back, then came back with a second-round performance that earned a standing ovation.

Haley fans were still seeing red because their favorite seems to be the only contestant ever criticized by these way-too-easy-too-please judges.

Then Thursday’s show features the somewhat surprising elimination of James Durbin, who goes out with a flourish, taking one of season 10’s most feel-good stories with him.
