Triston Harper of American Idol Season 22 had his own homecoming celebration over the weekend.

Triston Harper enjoyed a homecoming to Alabama, over the weekend, even if it came a bit later than many of his fans hoped.

Triston, 15, placed Top 5 on Season 22 of American Idol.

The Top 3 enjoyed homecoming parades and concerts the Tuesday before Idol’s May 19 finale.

Triston’s homecoming included a Friday night concert in Mount Vernon, Ala., on the reservation of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians.

That was followed by a Saturday parade and pow wow on the reservation.

During the Friday evening concert, Triston performed some of his fan favorite covers from Idol, including Travis Tritt’s “T.R.O.U.B.L.E.,” Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel” and Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country.”

He also performed his new single, “H.O.P.E.”

Triston also sang a song with his grandfather, Perry Carl Rivers, according to al.com’s coverage of the event. You can check out photos from the concert here.

Speaking of “H.O.P.E.,” the song is up to 65,000 streams on Spotify and spent about a week on the Apple Music country singles chart.

The song was released May 17, two days before the Idol finale. Twenty-four hours later, it was number 20 on Apple Music’s Top 200 and number 11 on the site’s country music chart.
